March was very busy once again with 2 sporting fixtures, a Bike ability course and the very success-ful Sport Relief day.
The Bikeability course ran over two days and consisted of the chil-dren learning all about how to ride a bike safely and how to follow the rules when riding on the main roads.
The High 5 Netball festival took part at Langley Grammar school and consisted of the children play-ing a round robin of matches against other school from Slough. The team played really well and learnt a lot about how to play as a team to achieve success. The team came 2nd in their group which was a big achievement as the competi-tion was strong.
The other sporting festival Iqra entered into was the Tag rugby festival. The festival was played at Slough Rugby Club. The school entered a team from year 3 and 4 and a team from year 5 and 6.Tag rugby is a game specially designed for chil-dren to play allowing the children to have fun whilst still maintaining the competi-tive element of rugby.
Once again the competition was very strong with 20 other schools from Slough competing. Both teams played really well and learnt a lot on the day about how to adapt their playing style to win their matches.
The children gain a lot of experience when they get to play other schools in a sporting fixture not only about how to play as a team but also about the expectations of representing their school.
Well done to all the children that took part in the sporting festivals
