Science Intent, Implementation and Impact Statement

Science NC Pos

At Iqra Primary School, we believe every child is a budding scientist! Our goal is to provide a broad and balanced science curriculum that empowers our pupils to explore and discover the wonders of the world around them. We want them to develop a genuine love for science and inspire them to dream big - whether that means becoming astronauts, forensic scientists, toxicologists, or microbiologists.

"The important thing is to never stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing." Albert Einstein

Our carefully crafted curriculum is designed with each child's needs at its heart, ensuring that learning is coherent and engaging. We strive not only to meet the essential requirements of the National Curriculum but also to equip our pupils with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need for future opportunities and responsibilities.

By fostering curiosity and encouraging questions, we create stimulating and challenging experiences that help every child expand their scientific knowledge and vocabulary. At Iqra, we nurture a lifelong love of learning, ensuring that our children are ready to explore the exciting possibilities that await them!

Iqra Achieves the Primary Science Quality Mark Gilt Award!

The Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) is an award to enable primary schools across the UK to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their science provision. The PSQM Gilt Award has been awarded to us by local experts to recognise our commitment to excellence in science teaching and learning.

Jane Turner, PSQM National Director said “Gaining a Primary Science Quality Award is a significant achievement for a school. The profile and quality of science teaching and learning in each awarded school is very high. Children are engaged with great science, both in and outside the classroom, developing positive attitudes towards Science as well as secure scientific understanding and skills. Science subject leaders, their colleagues, head teachers, children, parents and governors should be very proud."
